my piso!!!

this is my bed room. do you see how lonely these white walls are? they are just eagerly anticipating a letter from you, a picture you send me....either a photograph to hang or something you create....the choice is yours. my walls would be so grateful and so would your friend laura!
two of my other walls would also love for you to send me thing so they won't be desolate either. my fourth wall has two doors that lead to a balcony so their feeling pretty filled up at this point.
here is the wall across from my bed....you got it! these are my balcony doors! our piso is three levels. you walk up some stairs and the door you come to on the lever above the street is MY ROOM!!!! you walk up the next flight of stairs and you get elaine's room directly above mine! then across the hall are our two bathrooms. each have a toilet and a sink and one of them has a shower.lastly you walk up the last flight of stairs and find our kitchen/laundry room/window that leads to a wonderful rooftop/secret trap door room. it is quite wonderful. the washer tries to eat your fingers when you are putting clothes in and taking them out. our sink talks to us whenever the washer is being used.
we love living here!!!!!!! it is located 1 minute walking from En Vivo! so that makes life easier in the mornings.
speaking of mornings, let's talk about the schedule of life that spaniards hold.
wake up/breakfast time 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
work a little bit: 11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.
lunch/siesta time: 2:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
some people work again, others don't
dinner time: 9:00 p.m. (at the very earliest)-11:00 p.m. (another good time to start your dinner meal)
then you go out and beer and pinchos (appetizers). then you go to a club or another bar or something until about 3 or 3:30 and head home and get up at 9 that morning to start it all over again!
it's a fun schedule to get used to!
this is beautiful isn't it? well you are looking along with me at the view from my balcony!!!!! can you believe it?The full time missionary team here at En Vivo is AWESOME!!!! Really, from the moment in stepped foot in Salamanca, i have felt completely at home! We have been doing manual labor this week: sanding down walls, taping trim, painting walls, building counter tops and so much more! it is exciting to see this place begin to come together before the big rush of students arrive. i think my next post will be dedicated some how to en vivo and explaining more about it and the impact that it has already had in it's two years of existense....you should be chomping at the bit for that information. i shouldn't keep you waiting too long!
this week is full of festivals!!!!! they are amazing. the parades walk down the street below my balcony so i have a front row view for everything should i choose to watch and the people in the parades keep their costumes on ALL DAY LONG. how funny is that? men in tights everywhere....well not everywhere, but not uncommon either.
tonight was their third round of fireworks. y'all their fireworks put our 4th of july shows to shame, easily. they lasted for about 30 minutes tonight and i felt like the entire sky was lit up the entire time. the fireworks went off in such a way that it seemed like a symphony...it was truly beautiful (this is just a glimpse....evidently the BIG SHOW is on september 15th....i cannot wait!!!!!!!!)
i have so much more to tell you, but this is the time i have for now. know that i love you all so much!!!!

Weee!!!
So I love your little room. What a wonderful view! I sent you a letter yesterday. I didn't put an 's' on the end of Serranos though so we'll see if you still get it or not. I'll send you another letter with a picture inside soon. Spaniards definitely know how to party. I think America needs to adopt the custom of a siesta. I miss you but am so glad to know you are enjoying your time there! Keep the blog posts coming.
Hi little laura :)
I LOVE your blog. I check it every day and I'm praying for you. Your room is so cute and I'll help you decorate it as soon as I get a minute to make you something cute!
be safe, sweet girl!
