My new friend Saray (Sah-Rye) took us on a tour of Salamanca. She has lived here her entire life and it was fun to see the city from her point of view. Here a nice man on the bridge with us captured elaine, joanna, wimberly, saray and i 's first stop on the tour of salamanca...native style.
on wednesday i had the pleasure of making four new friends at cafe ingles. 30 minutes into our friendship and elaine and i found ourselves agreeing to travel with one of them. so 8:30 on saturday morning we hoped on a bus, passed by the bull (it is right outside salamanca) and watched the sun rise to a beautiful day!
We accompanied Anabel, Maria and Ana to Segovia, Spain! 
Segovia is home to a roman aquaduct. i am still baffled as to how the romans constructed these aquaducts. they are huge boulders and no cement. it is said that if just one boulder is taken out of it's place the entire thing would fall. that's some accurate planning on their part in constructing this monstrosity!!! we played at the aquaduct...
...then at the cathedral
...then at the castle
...then some more at the castle...where the doors are made for people around my height and the suits of armor for people not much taller than me. you should have seen the shoes on these guys, talk about uncomfortable. i don't know if americans are just huge but every suit of armor in this place was rather small.
this is just beautiful...and i am surrounded by this beauty every day (well not this exact beauty because it is in segovia and i am in salamanca, but you catch my drift)
...Ana, Anabel, Maria (elaine the photographer) and i played everywhere we went.
we spent a lovely day in segovia. it has been fun to see how the Lord is working here in Spain. Although i still don't know the language very well i had a blast with these girls. they reminded me a lot of my friendships back home. their friendship is special and fun and they are eager to draw others in to it as well! what a treat!

Laura, your pictures are great! I was going to tell you that we have some color in our trees (very little, but you know it doesn't take much to thrill me), but they are nothing compared to the first picture here. No imaginas la alegría que me ha hecho encontrar este post sobre Segovia!! Yo soy de allí y es una gran satisfacción comprobar que Segovia sigue embrujando a todo aquel que la visita...Para colmo publicaste la entrada el mismo día de mi cumpleaños!! 29 del 10...toda una coincidencia!
Bueno...no estoy segura de si entenderás todo lo que escribo. Lamento no hacerlo en Inglés, pero es que ahora mismo me encuentro en Francia y me resulta dicícil cambiar el chip...
Sólo decir que las fotos y todos tus comentarios sobre Segovia me han hecho muy feliz...me alegra que te haya gustado...
